In September 1989, Cooper gave a nearly three-hour lecture in Sedona. And that was before he took questions from the audience. a b Richard Allen Landes (2011). Responding to criticism that Behold a Pale Horse bore similarities to the previous year's Lawrence of Arabia, which featured two of the same lead actors, director Fred Zinnemann said: "I don't feel any obligation to be successful, success can be dangerous—you feel you know it all. I've learned a great deal from my failures." [15] The origin of this interpretation is unclear. Some translations of the Bible mention " plague" (e.g. the New International Version [26]) or "pestilence" (e.g. the Revised Standard Version [27]) in connection with the riders in the passage following the introduction of the fourth rider; cf. "They were given power over a fourth of the Earth to kill by sword, famine, plague, and by the wild beasts of the Earth." in the NASB. [28] However, the original Greek does not use the word for "plague" or "pestilence" here, simply "death" (θάνατος). [29] The use of "pestilence" was likely drawn from other parts of the Book of Revelation and included here as another form of death. Also, whether this passage refers to the fourth rider only or the four riders as a whole is a matter of debate. [2]

In 1991, Cooper wrote and published Behold a Pale Horse. [5] The book has been influential among "UFO and militia circles". [13] Just prior to the trial of Terry Nichols in 1997, The Guardian described it as "the manifesto of the militia movement". [14]Some Christians interpret the Horsemen as a prophecy of a future Tribulation, [42] during which many on Earth will die as a result of multiple catastrophes. The Four Horsemen are the first in a series of "Seal" judgements. This is when God will judge the Earth, and is giving humans a chance to repent before they die. A new beautiful Earth is created for all the people who are faithful to Him and accept him as their Savior. [ citation needed] Cooper hadn’t. Instead, according to the FBI files, his wife had left him and, with their daughters, moved to California. Cooper made a habit of chasing away people from what he considered to be his street. He became increasingly convinced, according to police reports archived on BeholdAMessenger, that the visitors were federal agents looking to arrest him. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

The Seven Seals and Jesus Olivet Prophecy

According to Anatoly Fomenko, the Book of Revelation is largely astrological in nature. The 'Four Horsemen' represent the planets Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. [82] Other Biblical references [ edit ] Zechariah [ edit ] Besides Christ, the Horseman could represent the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was understood to have come upon the Apostles at Pentecost after Jesus departed Earth. The appearance of the Lion in Revelation 5 shows the triumphant arrival of Jesus in Heaven, and the first Horseman may represent the sending of the Holy Spirit by Jesus and the advance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. [13] As the Antichrist [ edit ]

Cooper then pointed a gun at Hamblin’s head and told him he should find out who he was. And again, to stay away from the hill. By the late 1980s, Cooper had moved to Camp Verde, Arizona, and was traveling the country giving lectures. Wherever he appeared, he set up a merchandise table to sell his writings and recordings of his lectures. In 1997, hip hop group Killarmy released their debut album, Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars, a title drawn from Cooper's work. a b c Lenski, Richard Chales Henry (2008). They’re going to kill me, ladies and gentlemen,” he told the audience. “They’re going to come up here in the middle of the night, and shoot me dead, right on my doorstep.”The film was scheduled to be broadcast nationally in the United States by ABC in December 1966, but Columbia delayed the airing to prevent the continuation of the Spanish boycott of Columbia's films. [12] It finally aired on ABC on January 26, 1967. [13] Reception [ edit ] The Book of Revelation is heavy with symbolism and in the sixth chapter of Revelation, the Seven Seals are mentioned. I think there is a strong correlation between what happens in these seven seals and the Olivet Prophecy of Jesus in Matthew chapter 24. In the first place, the number seven is the number of completion or perfection in the Bible and so seven seals is seen as the perfection of God’s judgment that will be poured out on the earth. Revelation 6:1 says “ Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” What I have noticed in reading Matthew 24 and Revelation six is how these seven seals seem to be matched up with one another. Both Revelation six and Matthew 24 are both Jesus’ revelations. The Book of Revelation is not John’s revelation but it is “ The revelation from Jesus Christ” (Rev 1:1a). Both chapter six of Revelation and Matthew 24 with Jesus’ Olivet Prophecy apparently have the same sequence of events. Many believe that each of these four horsemen represent chronological events leading up to the time of Christ’s return and each horse and each rider are a different, intensifying step leading up to the final days before Christ’s return. Others believe that this was already fulfilled in the fall of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. The chapter begins with the first of seven seals. The Four Horsemen and their Seals

One adherent, Jake Angeli, has intentionally made a spectacle of himself by appearing at Arizona protests wearing a fur hat topped with horns and carrying a weathered sign that reads, “Q sent me.” Angeli said he has researched the secretive groups he believes control the world — Illuminati, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg group, among others — and felt validated by finding Cooper mentioned them in his book. The X-Files incorporated numerous elements of Cooper's mythos of a secret government in collusion with alien beings. In one of the most famous episodes, " Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man", John F. Kennedy is assassinated to prevent him from revealing the existence of aliens. [10] The 1998 X-Files film uses phrasing from Cooper (e.g. "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars") and features the name Cooper in apparent homage.
