About this deal

On the flip side, ambient noise can, of course, distract you from your content. This is less of a problem than you might think—something about the bone conduction "centers" the sound perceptually, and it was generally very easy to distinguish between ambient audio and content, with little difficulty ignoring the former and concentrating on the latter. I would like to put it out there that these aren’t Bose and Beats loud booming audio, simply put that isn’t really their purpose. The headphones have clear high-end frequency sound, which makes vocals sound great and the headphones great if you listen to a lot of spoken word content or listen to podcasts. The mid frequencies also sound good, but I do wish that they were a little more pronounced, unfortunately, there’s no companion app for these headphones but you could adjust the EQ in your music app of choice. Named after their easy, breezy all-day comfort and their lightweight titanium frame, AfterShokz Air headphones offer high-performance sound quality and a stylish look at an affordable price. Features like patented bone conduction technology and an updated design style make Air the perfect choice for athletes or everyday people looking to stay aware of their surroundings without compromising on performance.

They offer 4 different color combinations which fit the normal combos: Blue, Red, Green and grey. Battery Life Switching between the Shokz Air and OpenMove, the difference in sound quality is noticeable – the OpenMove’s sound is much richer and more detailed. If you're a proud owner of Air, Aeropex, or Titanium headphones, then you probably already know that they're equipped with a multipoint pairing feature -- a fun little perk that previous models didn’t have. These are best used with the headphones’ earplug mode, which lowers the volume reduces the bass significantly, compensating for the effect of closing your ear canals (sounds transmitted through bone conduction always sound deeper, and with earplugs you’re not hearing any ‘leaking’). Vocal booster mode, on the other hand, boosts the higher frequencies. Most importantly, they stay out of your ears completely—which is the big feature that drove me to buy them on an experimental basis in the first place. AfterShokz headphones don't leave you with sore or sweaty ears after hours of continuous use. The comfort factor isn't perfect—I find myself wanting to wiggle the headphones around a little after three or more hours—but it's a definite improvement.

Mediocre audio

Re-enter the pairing process. Press and hold the power/volume up button until the voice assistant says, “Pairing.” Wait for the LED to flash red and blue.

That completes the multipoint pairing process! With a little help from Bluetooth technology, your headphones should now be connected to two of your devices simultaneously the next time you turn them on.

Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium! (or Aeropex, or Air)" and then “pairing” and the LED light will then flash red and blue. It is an odd feeling at first and definitely takes some getting used to as most of us have only used in ear headphones our entire lives. That's partly to do with the materials used and the weighting and positioning of the various components, but it's also got to do with where the speakers themselves sit on your head. At least on the face that we tested them on, the Trekz Air sat comfortably within a small dimple area at the top of the jawbone. It's a really subtle, careful, clever design. This is going to be variable though as everyone is a little different and many may not be bothered by it and can crank it up! Style And Overall Look Re-enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the power/volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to Titanium!” and then “pairing” and then the LED light will flash red and blue.

This means that if you get caught in the rain during the last mile of a run or drop them in the water while you’re kayaking, they’ll still be a-ok. While we wouldn’t recommend Aeropex for swimming(that’s where our Xtrainerz come in), they fit a wide variety of activities. When you want to disable Bluetooth multipoint, press and hold the multi-function and volume up buttons for 3 seconds. The voice prompt will say,

An affordable bone-conduction headset for a competitive price, but there's a drawback

But many people don't want headphones for just one use any more - especially at this price -and if that's you, then you might find the battery life a little short . We liked Weighing 1.06 ounces and IP55 certified, Air is by far the most weightless, natural-feeling sports headphone we’ve created. Designed with the hardest working athletes in mind, Air becomes a part of you as you train to achieve your toughest goals while staying connected to the world around you. These are rated IP55 and are sweat proof and rain proof, but please note this doesn’t mean waterproof. These can hold up to a varied use over many different temperatures and weather combinations. Sound Quality

Press and hold the multi-function button and power/volume up button simultaneously for 3 seconds. The voice prompt will say, “Multipoint enabled.” Enjoy up to six hours of continuous music along with calls on a single full charge, or 20 days of standby time. To charge the Trekz Air to maximum life takes approximately 2 hours. Durability One of our biggest gripes about the Trekz Air has to be its short battery life. Yes, we realise that it's lightweight design is to blame, and we're loathe to criticise that, but just six hours does put them in the dreaded 'day use' category. The Air and the Titanium are also helpful with home school craziness—my wife can listen for questions and/or shenanigans from kids while podcasting, audiobooking, or taking calls, and my daughter finds them significantly better for class interviews and required multimedia consumption than the traditional headsets all three kids already had. The Good The headphones provide a new “premium pitch plus” ability which gives the user a better premium audio experience, including wide dynamic range and rich bass. Open your phone’s Bluetooth menu and select “Air by Shokz.” The voice prompt will say, “Connected.” The Air and Titanium both offer the exact same audio quality and battery life in my extensive testing. The major difference between the models is a thinner, lighter band on the Air that some users prefer. Also, the beep when adjusting the volume is significantly louder on the newer Air model—enough so that I found it a bit painful.
